Overview of Education and Career
Ken Richter is a product of the Cincinnati Public School System (Woodward High School 1959) and a graduate both of the University of Cincinnati (BS Economics) and Xavier University (MBA – Organizational Behavior). He served in the United States Marine Corps and worked in variety of progressively more responsible positions for 40 years. More than 30 of these years were with Avon Products where he started as a Purchasing Buyer in 1966 and retired in 1996 as President of Avon Germany and Eastern Europe and Senior Officer of the Corporation.
His multifaceted career took him and his family from Cincinnati, to Mexico, to the Philippines, to England, to New York, back to Cincinnati and to Germany where he retired in 1996 and returned to his home in Cincinnati. He has owned a home in Steeplechase since 1986 where he, his wife Debbie, and son Brad chose to live in order to be in the Sycamore School District.
Since returning to Cincinnati he has served as a volunteer business consultant to the Senior Marketing Class at Sycamore High School. He has also continued his education at the Raymond Walters Branch of the University of Cincinnati where he has gained computer literacy and improved his ability in the German Language.
Throughout his career he has developed and maintained a philosophy of “Continuous Improvement” and developed leadership skills that recognizes the “Power of Diversity in Thought” and has a proven record of moving groups to common goals and exceptional results. He has and will always hold himself and the group to measurable results. He has an impeccable reputation of trust, honesty, integrity and getting the job done.
